Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta Film Screening at the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka

asa

On 18 September 2025, the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka proudly presents the Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta Film (The Flavor Trails of Yogyakarta). Directed by Garin Nugroho and co-produced by the Didit Hediprasetyo Foundation and Titimangsa, the film features acclaimed singer and actress Maudy Ayunda. It highlights Yogyakarta’s vibrant culinary heritage and its strong connection to Indonesian culture.

Premiering at the Pavilion’s 180-seat theater, the Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta film proudly celebrates a city known for its warmth, artistry, and culinary richness. Moreover, the film blends traditional values with modern storytelling, inviting audiences to experience Yogyakarta’s flavors through a creative lens. Each scene, in turn, reflects the soul of the city, where taste, memory, and emotion beautifully come together.

Meanwhile, starring Maudy Ayunda, the film also showcases her heartfelt performance of the iconic song “Yogyakarta,” originally by KLa Project. Now reimagined in a grand orchestral arrangement by Tohpati, the song further connects nostalgia and innovation. As a result, the Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta film takes audiences on a captivating musical and visual journey. Ultimately, it bridges generations and celebrates the city’s timeless spirit.

Garin Nugroho’s direction brings a poetic vision to the screen. He captures how Yogyakarta’s culinary and cultural life intertwines with daily rituals and artistic expression. Viewers are guided through its streets, kitchens, and markets, where food becomes a language of identity and togetherness.

Celebrating Indonesia’s Spirit Through Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta Film

The Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta film also reflects Indonesia’s broader narrative at Expo 2025 Osaka. Moreover, it positions Yogyakarta as a symbol of creativity, unity, and authenticity. Through every frame, visitors can feel the heartbeat of the city and understand how its culinary traditions continue to inspire the nation.

Furthermore, with its emotional storytelling and striking visuals, the Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta film offers more than a screening. Instead, it becomes a journey that truly celebrates culture, artistry, and the taste of Indonesia.

ASA is delighted to support the launch of the Jejak Rasa Yogyakarta film at the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. We managed the press release and media relations, including inviting Vogue Japan to cover the event.
