Devialet Indonesia Unveiled Sound & Vision, a two-day cultural event exploring sound, design, and contemporary art in unison. Held at The Residence ONFIVE, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, this exclusive showcase took place on 17–18 December 2024 with distinction. The event celebrated the emotional power of artistic expression, seen through the premium lens of French audio innovation and design.
Devialet Indonesia Collaborates with Indonesian Creatives
Known for avant-garde collaborations worldwide, Devialet partnered with three renowned Indonesian artists for this unique artistic endeavor. Each artist reinterpreted Devialet’s Phantom speaker, transforming its sleek surfaces into rich canvases of culture, story, and symbolism. Together, Emte, Tutu, and Chitra Subiyakto created bespoke works that echoed the soul of Indonesian identity and craftsmanship.
Emte’s contribution reflects the value of gotong royong, a nod to unity and harmony by painting the speaker’s side plates with rhythmic, collaborative visuals. Tutu, the trailblazing street artist, infused Devialet’s tree and plates with a vibrant Mega Mendung motif, evoking a sense of balance through bold color and movement. Meanwhile, Chitra Subiyakto, founder of Sejauh Mata Memandang, designed the speaker caps using her signature Semanggi pattern, an homage to Jakarta’s iconic cloverleaf interchange and the spirit of modern heritage.
Art Meets Innovation in a Multisensory Showcase
Altogether, the exhibition fused minimalist design with revolutionary audio technology, layered with deep cultural narrative and emotional resonance. As Martin Ku, General Manager of Devialet APAC, noted, the experience created dialogue between sound, imagination, and human identity. This wasn’t just about listening, it was about connecting, feeling, and seeing sound through new emotional dimensions.
In addition to its artistic aim, Sound & Vision supported a noble cause with proceeds benefiting Yayasan Musik dan Sastra Indonesia. Founded by Ananda Sukarlan, this foundation nurtures young Indonesian musical talent through access, mentorship, and opportunity. Thus, the event offered not just inspiration but also empowerment for future generations of musicians.
For Devialet, form follows feeling and at Sound & Vision, sound became something you could see as well as hear. It transcended product showcasing, becoming a declaration that beauty belongs equally to the eye and the ear. In every frequency, Devialet affirmed that innovation should stir emotion and reflect identity.
